Off season training
Dry Land Training










Over the winter, the team maintains their camaraderie in the gym with dry land training. A certified personal trainer, Coach Annette offers three sessions each week on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings at EMF Fitness in SW Calgary, where we work on our strength, endurance and stamina. This gives us an opportunity to stay connected while preparing for the water season ahead.
Pool Paddling










Come March, the team beings our pool practices at Glenmore Aquatic Centre where we work on our paddling technique to prepare for the season ahead. Usually, these pool practices take place on Sunday afternoons until mid-May when we hit the water. This allows us to tweak our strokes and work on power before we even hit the water.
Camps & Clinics




In the off season, the team also participates in camps and clinics to help us keep improving our technique and strength. In 2024, most of our team took part in a clinic at the paddling tank in Leduc over the winter with Darwin Li, a World Champion Coach, and a Canadian National Champion paddler who helps paddlers and teams improve. In the spring, the majority of our team joined forces with two other local Calgary teams in a 2-day camp with Darwin on the Glenmore Reservoir.
