Paddles Up!
Our crew includes both the Reservoir Dolls (ladies team) and our mixed team, the Reservoir Dolls & Dudes. We are competitive dragon boat teams based in Calgary, Alberta. We regularly compete in the Lethbridge, Calgary and Penticton festivals.
Meet Coach Stopa
Steph Stopa has been part of the dragon boat community since 2018. As coach, she encourages a strong team camaraderie by establishing an inclusive environment that challenges each paddler to find their excellence. Using her connections within the international dragon boat community, she sources expertise from guest paddlers and coaches to help strengthen our stroke.

We empower our paddlers by being an inclusive and collaborative community. Paddlers from all backgrounds and skill levels are invited to join us. Our bond is strengthened through volunteering in our community and participating in physical challenges and activities together. We share a love of good times, with a supportive crew, and we work hard together for that win.

Do you like big boats? So do we! Each dragon boat holds 20 paddlers, one drummer (up front) and a steer (at the back). Each paddler has a unique role in maintaining a strong rhythm, pace and power - so we have the perfect place for you in our boat!

What does it take?
We are competitive, meaning we like to win and we train hard
We paddle on the Glenmore Reservoir Tuesday and Thursday (6:45-8pm). Attendance isn’t mandatory, but it is important to get to know your team and be race-ready
We welcome all levels of experience, as long as you’re keen to learn and bring your enthusiasm to practice
